This Month in Positive World News, April 2018

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

-Louis Armstrong

You might be wondering…

What planet does this person live on?!

Why would they go around humming What a Wonderful World? Have they seen the news lately?

If you spend any time looking at the news you will see violence, war, hunger, pain, and anger. It is hard to imagine that we live in a wonderful world, but positive news stories are out there if you aren’t too exhausted to find them after weeding through the negative ones.

Recognizing global issues is a vital part of becoming a well-informed person. However, we cannot conquer those problems until we recognize the strengths and values of individuals in this world.

Let’s set aside a little time each month to recognize and celebrate the positive side of the news and help students develop a balanced world view.

Here is a sampling of positive world news from April 2018.
